Founded in 1995, Center for Faith & the Arts set out to be a regional center, to provide a functioning organization for relating faith to the high arts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, eastern Tennessee, and northern Georgia.  *Named the 2013 North Carolina Theatre Conference Community Theatre of the Year*  Lee Street theatre was started in 2008 with the goal of providing new performance art experiences to Salisbury and Rowan County. Lee Street theatre offers a full theatre season along with the new 'Live At Lee Street' concert performances, which feature some of the best live musicians on the scene today. When at 'Lee Street' you might experience everything from Live Music & improv comedy to world premier & off-broadway plays. For the first 5 years, Lee Street theatre rented a small black garage space to perform in. Now, in it's 8th year, Lee Street theatre, and with the wonderful support of the Rowan-Salisbury Community, they operate out of the new 9,000 square foot Lee Street Theater & Performing Arts Center at the Tom & Martha Smith Event Center. This adaptive reuse of a 1920's warehouse offers a bar & lounge area, a rehearsal/event space, a full use Black Box style performance space, dressing rooms, and a theatrical scene shop. The center is home to both Lee Street theatre and The St. Thomas Players (drama troupe of The Center For Faith & The Arts). The space is also available for rental for private & group events.

The historic Meroney Theater, home of the Piedmont Players Theatre, is a renovated 361 seat theater, built in 1906, in Salisbury, North Carolina. The Meroney's illustrious stage has been graced by Sarah Bernhardt, Lillian Russell, John Philip Sousa, William Howard Taft, Cary Nation, and the New York Symphony Orchestra. We have grown accustomed to our new home and it is even better than we expected. Most of all, we are gratified by the wonderful reception our community has afforded this facility. In our inaugural season, 14,000 patrons of the arts came to downtown Salisbury to enjoy Piedmont Players productions. Our audiences and casts included all ages from primary grade children to senior citizens. Many community-minded citizens have pooled their talents and treasures to make the Meroney Theatre the splendid gift it has become for Salisbury and Rowan County. Thanks to all of you. Rail Walk Studios & Gallery (RWS&G) is located in the Rail Walk Arts District of Historic Downtown Salisbury, North Carolina, and is housed in a former warehouse near the restored Salisbury railroad depot. The brainchild of artist Marietta Foster Smith, Rail Walk Studios & Gallery opened in September 2006 and provides studio space for lease to artists as well as a shared gallery display space. Each of the artists at RWS&G has a unique style and body of work. Visitors will find original paintings in watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, encaustic, colored pencil, and other media, as well as sculpture, handmade paper, and jewelry, making RWS&G a great place to purchase a wide variety of original art. The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra ranging from forty-five to ninety musicians. Annually it performs four concerts on the Catawba and Livingstone College campuses. Since 1910, the Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society (SRCS) has rendered outstanding choral music for the listening pleasure of all in our area. This non-auditioned choir is open to all singers, 16 years old and above, and is currently under of the direction of Matthew Newton, Catawba College alum.  Admission to the ensemble’s performances is open to residents of the Salisbury-Rowan community and its members experience the joys of teamwork while doing something impossible to do alone. Our primary function is to prepare and perform concerts throughout the year, but in its entirety, SRCS has a greater purpose. Our goal has expanded to include fostering a healthy community through actively contributing to those in need. Through toy and canned good drives at concerts, scholarship opportunities to local students, nursing home concerts and other various forms of service, the SRCS is an invaluable part of the Salisbury-Rowan area. SRCS is supported in part by the Rowan Arts Council with funding from the state of North Carolina, the National Endowment for the Arts, and generous patrons and donors.

The St. John’s Men’s Chorus was formed in 1994 as a part of the fellowship ministry at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 200 West Innes Street in downtown Salisbury. It quickly grew into a community group, composed of men from the Salisbury-Rowan area who enjoy singing all styles of music – from classic sacred choral literature to spirituals to patriotic selection to barbershop arrangements. The group rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 in the choir room at St. John’s Lutheran, and performs for many local events, local and out-of-town churches, civic events, and many concerts to benefit the Crisis Council’s Battered Women’s Shelter and the Rowan Helping Ministries. Director of the Men’s Chorus is Rosemary Kinard, Associate Parish Musician at St. John’s. Robert Durocher, Minister of Music at St. John’s, serves as accompanist for the group.
